Design Brief:
Hidden down a leafy driveway and nestled into the bush, this townhouse required the living areas to be completely refurbished with a new kitchen, flooring, and window treatments. A natural stone feature waterfall bench created a focal point of the new contemporary kitchen, enhanced by the play of light on the textured tile splash backs, and the glass finishes on the high wall cabinetry and breakfast bar.
The elements of the surrounding bush were incorporated into the simplicity on the roller blinds, with a cabbage tree print, and the featured wallpaper ties the colour scheme together, creating a Horizontal lineal perception of the wall.
Minor Details Major Impact
The iconic Kiwi design of the cabbage tree on the roller blind featured here is from Brightshine Blinds new designer range, This was launched in late 2009 in collaboration with Amanda and Debbie Neill at Designworx. They’ve come up with a range of designs to add more texture to roller blinds and to create more of a feature of them in a room. Toi Toi’s, Cabbage Trees and the Auckland City Skyline images are part of the range.
